Ascorbic acid passes out of the body quickly in urine, so little of it is absorbed. One study showed that 24 hours after supplementation with Ester-C®, the white blood cells of subjects who had taken Ester-C® had absorbed more Vitamin C than those of subjects who had taken regular ascorbic acid. Another study showed that calcium ascorbate is better absorbed than another form of Vitamin C.

Sisu's Ester C Supreme also contains polysaccharides which are long sugar molecules that strengthen the immune response. One of the most significant polysaccharides is arabinogalactan. Many plants are rich sources of arabinogalactins; the larch tree, from which the arabinogalactins in Ester-C® Supreme are extracted, is particularly so.

Bioflavonoids (antioxidants found in plants) which enhance the immune-supporting functions of Ester C are also included. Studies suggest that quercetin inhibits the manufacture and release of histamine and other allergic and inflammatory agents, thus calming allergic reactions.

Anthocyanidins are a potent group of bioflavonoids. The anthocyanidins in Ester-C® Supreme are derived from bilberry, cranberry, and black currant, each serving a slightly different role in the body and working synergistically to boost health.

Recommended dosage: 1-2 capsules daily.
