Primarily, it is the general and widespread use of broad-spectrum antibiotics which destroy indiscriminately all good beneficial micro-organisms which protect us from a Candida yeast overgrowth population. These broad-spectrum antibiotics are powerful drugs, which will be prescribed to reduce infections. However, they also provide the conditions for a Candida yeast infection to invade your body. Other major contributing agents are birth control pills, steroids, smoking and alcohol beverages.
